New Alresford Town Trust: Clerk's general correspondence (7M50/F)

This section consists principally of original bundles and files of correspondence, together with some correspondence found unbridled. For the period 1943-53 there appear to be at least two separate series of files, with no obvious division of subject-matter. Although a few items in both series are addressed to the Chairman rather than the Clerk, the majority of items in both sets of files appear to have been detitle with by the Clerk. During this period the clerk was Sidney Charles Lane, managing clerk to Messrs Shield and Son, and Mr G E R Shield was a member of the Trust, and for most of the period was Chairman, so it is possible that their correspondence relating to the Trust was combined in the firm's filing system.
